Is Amex Business Platinum harder to get than Business Gold?
Short answer
Approval has less to do with which card you pick than with what sits behind the application. Amex leans on whatever US file exists plus your application details, so an LLC, EIN, ITIN and an active US business bank account matter more than the card tier. No issuer guarantees approval, and neither do we.
What Amex is reading
A credible US profile. That means an entity that checks out, a bank account with real activity, and details that match across the application. A thin or dormant file is the usual reason for a decline, not the card tier.
The SSN question
An SSN is not required. Amex accepts an ITIN on many applications, and an ITIN needs a valid tax reason rather than a visa.
