Charge cards versus credit cards
Most cards advertised as 'EIN only' are charge cards, paid in full each cycle and approved on your connected US business bank balance. That model lets fintech issuers skip the personal credit check, which is how non-residents get approved without an SSN.
Where an ITIN is still needed
A true revolving credit line, which lets you carry a balance, almost always needs a personal guarantee backed by an SSN or ITIN. So an EIN opens charge cards, but an ITIN is what widens access to the revolving cards from traditional banks.
